This is a large drawing, 37”x 52”, that is worked on 10 hours each weekend. It started a year ago so progress is slow but steady. It’s like building a house, bit by bit it adds up eventually to a finished product. It’s a great form of meditation and helps to gear up for the work week ahead!

Our patient underwent more than a dozen reconstructive procedures over her lifetime to correct a congenital cleft lip and associated nasal deformity. Improved techniques currently available have enabled a great step forward for her as demonstrated in this video.

This young patient with no pregnancy history developed this condition as a result of massive weight loss. The solution required a combination of volume addition (implant) and skin removal. The result is durable 4 years later, prior to the development and popularization of “internal bra” technology. Just goes to show that tried and true techniques can work without the “razor-dazzle” and increased complexity of current approaches.
